​Veterinary House Calls for Pets, Inc. was established in 1994 as a novel concept in South Florida. Dr. Yolanda set out to provide personal, professional, and quality service as a mobile small animal veterinary practitioner. Her goal continues to be to serve the South Florida community by maximizing the convenience and the comfort with the least amount of stress for both her human clients and furry patients, including dogs and cats. Dr. Yolanda is licensed, insured, and accredited with the State of Florida. Dr. Yolanda is also a Fear Free Certified Professional and her practice is Feline Friendly.

Dr. Yolanda was born in beautiful South Carolina and grew up in Plantation, Florida.  She is the daughter of former Cuban exiles and the oldest of six children. She graduated with honors from St. Anthony Catholic School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale.  In 1988, Dr. Yolanda graduated from the University of Florida's College of Agriculture with a B.S. in Animal Science, and in 1992, she graduated from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Yolanda has maintained active memberships in the Broward County Veterinary Medical Association (former board member) and the American Veterinary Medical Association since 1992. She is also a Florida Veterinary Medical Association member and participated in the 2020 Legislative Days in Tallahassee.

Dr. Yolanda is the proud mother of one daughter, Grace, a student at Penn State University studying Criminology/Pre-Law.

Dr. Yolanda's very own “full house” of pets include Everett (a rescued “amazing” cat), George W (a rescued and bossy Chihuahua/Terrier mix), Lucy (a “singing” rescued Chihuahua), Paige (rescued cat, orphaned as a newborn kitten), Magnolia (rescued car, injured), and twin rescued orphaned kittens, Henry and April.

Dr. Yolanda’s hobbies include gardening, yoga, thrifting, pilates, 

RVing and everything about southern living!
