Veterinary House Calls for Pets, Inc. was established by Dr. Yolanda in 1994 to provide personal, professional, and thorough service as a mobile veterinary practice. She is licensed, insured, and accredited with the State of Florida. Her goal is to serve the South Florida community by maximizing the convenience and comfort of both her human and furry clients while always providing excellent veterinary care.
Dr. Yolanda was born in South Carolina and grew up in Plantation, Florida. She is the daughter of former Cuban exiles and is the oldest of six siblings. She graduated with honors from St. Anthony Catholic School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and Broward Community College all in Fort Lauderdale.
In 1988, Dr. Yolanda graduated from the University of Florida's College of Agriculture with a B.S. in Animal Science, and in 1992, she graduated from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine. Go Gators!
She has maintained active memberships in the Broward County Veterinary Medical Association (previously serving on the board) and the American Veterinary Medical Association since 1992. She is also a Florida Veterinary Medical Association Member.
Dr. Yolanda's own pets include Everett (a rescued cat), Skye (a Shetland Sheepdog who is also a certified pet therapy dog), George (a rescued Chihuahua/Terrier mix), Phoebe (a rescued Bichon Frise), and Paige (rescued orphan kitten).
